IDT's strength & a principal driving factor behind its growth as a new company lies in the experience of its dedicated engineering team. The staff of IDT have many years of combined experience in professional engineering design and successful project management of innovative instrumentation for ambitious scientific goals.

Staff

Paul Murray – Managing Director

Over 20 years experience in project management of the design, build and installation of SR beamlines and related instrumentation.

Principal Project History: Daresbury Laboratory – Beamline 2, 4 and 8., ESRF – Swiss Norwegian Beamline, APS – GSECARS Beamline, large K-B mirrors, APS – HPCAT Beamline

Paul Brookes – Design Engineer & Director

20 years experience of the design of SR beamlines and related instrumentation & more recently in build, test and installation.

Principal Project History:  Daresbury Laboratory – Double Crystal Monochromator, MPW 14 & 6 Front Ends, APS – HPCAT Beamline, CLS – XAFS Beamline

Ian Smith – Technician

A time served technician with 7 years experience in the build, test and installation of mass spectrometers. The last 4 years at IDT involved in the build, test and installation of SR Beamline equipment at our offices and on customer site.

Rick Ford – Design Engineer & IT Administrator

A time served design engineer, 4 years experience in a design and build environment prior to joining IDT. The last 6 years at IDT involved in the design and build of SR Beamline equipment.

Microsoft trained and IDT System administrator

Jon Kelly – Project Engineer

Jon started with IDT in January 04, he has a PhD in Experimental Physics. During Summer 2004 Jon has been seconded working at the GSECARS team at the APS Chicago working on (amongst other thins) EPICs beamline control and monochromator feedback systems.

Chris Rycroft – Project Engineer

An IDT Project Engineer, with a degree in Aeronautical engineering and was previously employed by QinetiQ as an Analytical Engineer, thermal modeling of military jet engines for over 5 years. Chris is fully trained in ANSYS and has experience in Optics thermal and stress analysis.

Stephen Bloomfield – Project Engineer

Stephen joined in November 2006 and has many years of experience in UHV precision mechanical design.
 

Dave Bouch – Technician

David joined IDT in March 2004, he has over 25 years experience as a Beamline technician at Daresbury Laboratory.

 
 

Gary Markey – Technician

Gary joined IDT in March 2007, he has over 25 years experience as a Beamline technician at Daresbury Laboratory.

 

 

In Addition...

IDT administration is supported by IDT's new management accountant Ester Harvey for all its account and financial data systems. Ester is a very experienced management accountant with expertise gained in industry.
 

Associates

IDT's network of associated professionals working across the world give IDT  remarkable insight into the cutting edge developments in the SR community.  It also permits operational flexibility in being able to meet varying workloads and challenging customer demands.
Dr Peter Eng is a senjor research associate at GSECARS Sector 13 at the APS. Dr Eng has been very active in developing innovative SR beamline instrumentation, most notably the Kirkpatrick Baez X-ray mirror system licensed through IDT.
